I believe that beauty shines from within, but I definitely, 101% do NOT believe that people would ever decide to judge a book solely based on its content rather than its cover.

Okay, maybe that's just a metaphor. I bought a lot of good books with awful looking covers. Teehee! :D

But anyway, that's not my point. My point is... I hate it when my parents try to convince me that appearance is nothing as people are all judged by their inner beauty and that we are all living in one fair, beautiful world... Even the ugly duckling would meet her prince someday if she has a kind heart and a beautiful soul...

*cock stare* Sometimes I want to just shoot my parents. Lol.

It really doesn't makes sense and that's just not the way the society works. The first impressions ALWAYS plays the biggest role in where you are going to stand in one's memory and like it or not, first impressions always, ALWAYS depend on the appearance. Face the fact, people are absolutely judgemental. When you don't know a person, what else can you judge other than the looks? It is always:

Beautiful = Good

Ugly = Bad

I didn't mean that people who aren't as attractive as others should just shoot themselves and die. Inner beauty can shine brighter than the outer core, no doubt. It just takes time. Plenty of time. And patience, one of the many things I hardly find in men.

I remember a jerk once said these words to a friend of mine.
"You would never receive flowers from a guy because you are so fat and ugly."
She ended up being bulimic for a while.

See how cruel men are? *ahem* Wait, not just men actually.

Men want to date hot, attractive women.

Companies want to hire beautiful women because it represents the company's "image".

Parents want their sons to marry good looking ladies so that their grandchildren would turn out to be equally as good looking.

God knows why women always seem to be the victim of this harsh truth. They become desperate to look attractive. They depend on cosmetics and beauty products. They opt for plastic surgeries. They hunt for clothes which can camouflage their flabs and somehow make them look slimmer. They go on diets and eat little. Wait, some don't even eat at all. They just take laxatives and drink water. Why? Because it SEEMS that the beautiful women get the upper hand in everything! The good jobs, rich men, the attention, popularity, great lifes... In short, fame and fortune. Who doesn't want them?

But at the end the end of the day, women are the ones who are blamed for trying too hard to look good.

This world is so stupid.
